Founded in 1986 as a small bridal shop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, The Atelier Couture has grown into an internationally recognized haute couture bridal house. The brand’s name reflects its dedication to craftsmanship and its belief in creating beauty through meticulous attention to detail. With its design studio established in Shanghai in 2016, The Atelier Couture is known for sophisticated fabrics, bold yet graceful tailoring, and silhouettes designed to beautifully enhance the feminine form.
In 2017, world-renowned designer Professor Jimmy Choo OBE joined The Atelier Couture as Design and Creative Director. His vision for bridalwear—that a wedding gown carries a bride’s dreams, hopes for love, and anticipation for her future—beautifully complements The Atelier’s commitment to couture craftsmanship.
Teresa’s Homard gown is a stunning expression of that philosophy. Crafted from luxurious pearly-gloss satin, the gown embraces a minimalist aesthetic while making a statement through exquisite structure and movement. Its clean off-the-shoulder neckline creates an effortlessly elegant silhouette, while asymmetrical pleating adds dimension and the illusion of delicate layers.
The gown’s breathtaking skirt is perhaps its most memorable detail. Double layers of hand-pleated fabric create beautiful volume and movement without the need for a traditional petticoat. Inspired by the sculptural beauty of ancient Greek art, the pleats evoke the feeling of flowing clouds and celestial forms. Hand-stitched rhinestones delicately embellish the hem, adding just a hint of sparkle to the otherwise refined design.
