Vows Magazine

Vows, the wedding industry’s leading publication, profiled Bridal Reflections. In their profile, they made reference to Bridal Reflections as “A Cut Above the Rest’. The article details the history of Bridal Reflections, the next generation of family ownership, and the many charitable contributions we have made to our communities. We invite you to view and enjoy the entire article.

The Wedding Salon Showcase

Bridal Reflections participated in The Wedding Salon’s showcase at the beautiful Prince George Ballroom. Organized by 4PM Events, one of New York’s premiere wedding and event coordinators, the event was a huge success, drawing hundreds of brides and more than a little media attention.

Bridal Reflections showcased dozens of their couture gowns from designers such as Ines Di Santo, St. Pucchi, and Romona Keveza. The dresses were also featured in a New York Post article about the event. You can join Bridal Reflections and The Wedding Salon at future showcases. For more information visit www.bridalreflections.com and www.weddingsalon.com.

Dresses for Soldiers

Bridal Reflections had the opportunity to give back to those Americans who have sacrificed so much for our country. Our aim was to provide 100 wedding gowns for engaged women who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan, or the fiancés of men that have served.

We have since extended this, and all the details can be found at www.bridalreflectionscares.com

Please click below to see a segment on Fox News’ Fox And Friends television program announcing this offer.

WOR Radio Bridal Event & Fashion Show

On March 3rd, 2007, Bridal Reflections hosted the fashion show at the WOR Radio Bridal Show held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. They showcased a variety of their top designers, many of whom personally attended. The show was hosted by the owner of the salon as well as Joan Hamburg, one of radio’s most endearing personalities. It truly showcased the fashion that makes Bridal Reflections the only salon a bride need visit.

Long Island Weddings TV features Bridal Reflections

Follow the link below to see two clips from Long Island Weddings TV, an extension of LIWeddings.Com. The first clip is an informative interview with RoseLynn Micari-Fiumara of Bridal Reflections that features a profile of our salon as well as some very helpful advice for the bride. The second clip features a couple which Bridal Reflections helped to create a vintage wedding day.

The Joan Hamburg show live from Bridal Reflections

In September 2007, Joan Hamburg of WOR Radio 710, one of radio’s most influential and listened to personalities, broadcasted her show live from Bridal Reflections on Fifth Avenue. Among the participants in this wedding themed show was Anthony Micari, owner of Bridal Reflections, designer Jim Hjelm, celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum, famed cake designer Sylvia Weinstock, among others. Guests were treated to an informal fashion show of some of Bridal Reflection’s most beautiful couture gowns.

Below is a review of the show found on www.wedlock.com written by one of the esteemed guests, Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway. She had some wonderful things to say about Bridal Reflections as well.

Joan Hamburg Gathers New York’s Top Wedding Industry Movers and Shakers
Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway

I had the honor of being a guest on The Joan Hamburg Show on WOR, out of New York, and was part of an exciting show on weddings. Joan invited leaders of the New York City wedding industry - cake maven Sylvia Weinstock, celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum, editors of TheKnot.com among them—and asked me to her be her guest on interfaith and non denominational weddings.

The show was taped live, with an audience, at Bridal Reflections at 286 Fifth Avenue, and airs this morning in the 9 AM to 11 AM time slot of The Joan Hamburg Show. You can also listen to it on line.

Joan is an amazing consumer reporter and interviewer and all-around lovely person. I was thrilled last year when she featured me as a leading non-denominational and interfaith minister in her book, City Weddings: A Guide to the Best Bridal Resources in New York, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey & Connecticut (Universe Publishing, 2006).

It was such a fun show. First of all, Bridal Reflections is an amazing bridal salon. It is an almost zen approach to bridal gowns, with a lovely waterfall outside the door before you even enter. Inside is so elegant, with some of the most scrumptious wedding gowns hanging beautifully on mannequins and elegantly displayed on racks.

The wedding industry is known for causing “snow blindness” and “white out” when brides go to bigger salons to shop. Bridal Reflections makes brides—and everyone—feel welcome and treats the eye to a truly beautiful bridal site. They hosted a lovely reception for Joan’s radio show. I met the owners. I can only image their service to brides is top notch and very RELAXING!

During the taping of Joan’s show, two models came out between segments to model awesome wedding gowns, offering an informal bridal fashion show. I see A LOT of wedding dresses in my line of work but even I got excited by some of the gorgeous gowns at Bridal Reflections.

CNN Event

In 2007, Thabiti Boone was awarded by CNN for his remarkable humanitarian work with children. He was one of several candidates picked by CNN to be recognized as the “Hero of the Year”. One of the children from his youth group wrote to CNN to tell them why Thabiti was her hero. Bridal Reflections was proud to provide her with a beautiful Bill Levkoff gown. Her shoes were provided by Sandy’s Shoes in Massapequa Park.

InStyle Event

Bridal Reflections’ Manhattan salon was honored to host one of InStyle’s premier bridal events. Attended by top vendors in the wedding industry and hosted by the staff of InStyle Weddings, it was an event not to be missed! Bridal Reflections showcased some of their couture bridal gowns in an informal fashion show.

Upgrading A Classic: Couture Bridal Fashion in 2009-2010

Let’s face it; the 21st century is here and although we all love classic wedding dress styles (they make our hearts melt and remind us of the 50 year stretch of marriage our grandparents made it through) sometimes it’s time for a change. The gowns at bridal couture boutiques located all over the country offer the traditional wedding gown your grandmother wore, but with an added extravagance and uniqueness.
Recent trends seen in wedding dress fashions in 2009 and 2010 include:

• Ruffles, ruffles and more ruffles
• Sweetheart necks
• Mermaid skirts
• Floral prints
• Long bridal veils
• Longer trains

Brides who are a bit risqué can be seen wearing bridal gowns that are any color but white. These styles and trends have been incorporated into classic designs allowing dresses to stay ever so elegant yet sexy.

Celeb Couture

Celebrity brides this summer showed off many of these dress trends; the most popular being the sweetheart neckline. Newlyweds Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham tied the knot in Beverly Hills on August 1, according to celebritybrideguide.com).

Durham shows off her slim figure in a long, flowy white dress embellished with silver gems.

Reality television stars Kendra Wilkinson and Hedi Montag both wore off the shoulder dresses with full skirts. Montag’s dress included ruffles while the train on Wilkinson’s couture gown trailed on for several feet.

The Duchess herself, Fergie, from the band The Black Eyed Peas, wore a strapless, satin wedding dress with a mermaid bottom for her winter wedding.

Couture Bridal Gown Designs

The classic styles worn by celebrities yesterday and today, such as the off the shoulder look or the satin, cupcake skirt, are still popular because of how they have evolved over the years. Designers have altered these simple styles into something more lavish and breathtakingly beautiful. Eve of Milady (whose work can be found at Bridal Reflections in New York City) embellishes gowns with embroidery, beading and floral prints. These details are added to layers upon layers of fabric making up the full skirts that give the bride that glamorous bell shape.

Couture wedding gown designer Marina K also has a collection of her work available at Bridal Reflections. All of her dresses follow this year’s trends. She incorporates the ruffles, sweetheart necklines and the long skirts. However, there is one element to her gowns that make a bride truly stand out; Marina K’s dresses are not your typical white.

In fact, some of her gowns are red (fire engine red), lavender and the more subtle ivory. Although Marina K may stray from the norm when it comes to wedding gown colors (not all of her dresses are loud shades, many are the traditional white) the style of her dresses are chic and stunning.

The custom wedding gowns by bridal couture designer Lee-Ann Belter are less extreme, but still unique and chic. Each dress in Belter’s 2009 collection has its own feminine name. For example, “Kate” and “Madison” are both strapless dresses that simply flair out. There are no big bells and there isn’t much embellishment. Although these wedding dresses don’t include an extraordinary amount of detail, the detail that is done is complex and unique. “Kate” has a ribbon around the waist while “Madison” has an embroidered sweetheart neck. Belter’s dresses may be simple, but they are still trendy, classic and beautiful.

San Patrick is another designer whose work can be found at the boutique in Morgan Hill. His 2009-2010 collection offers a wide selection of elaborate bridal couture dresses. The skirts of many of his dresses are layered with ruffles, while other satin gowns are gathered at the waist giving the bride a slimming silhouette. He takes a dress like Belter’s and adds the ruffles and the ankle length veils. San Patrick uses that extra pizzazz to put a slight spin on the classic wedding dress.

Modern Bridal Accessories

Veils and headpieces are the perfect timeless treasures that complete the look of a breathtakingly beautiful bride. Such accessories have been in style for ages and go hand in hand with wedding gown fashions. The veils, headpieces and accessories designed by Erin Cole are unique and elegant. Cole’s jewelry has an antique look but is anything but old fashioned.

The designer’s collaboration of timeless and modern artistry provides brides with classy and stylish looks. Brides to be can choose to wear a traditional veil or headpiece from Cole’s wide collection. The short veils and big headpieces are reminiscent of the hats women of another era wore for very special days.

They are chic and sexy, and Cole makes sure to inject 21st century style into each head piece or veil keeping a bride’s look fresh, beautiful and modern.

For as long as there have been weddings, there have been brides wearing gorgeous gowns. Although times have changed and fashion has evolved over the years, there’s something about molding the older styles of bridal dresses with new embellishments that make the bride look one of a kind. Brides want to be connected with the women who came before them. Those women, whether they are aunts, mothers, sisters or grandmothers, helped a bride become who they are today.

Wearing a classic wedding dress with a unique spin on it is a bride’s way to pay tribute to a role model, while still fulfilling her own personal desires. The dresses found at couture bridal boutiques this year are elaborate and extravagant, but they never veer too far away from the classics. With this year’s newest wedding trends, these accents can make a traditional dress truly stand out from the rest.

Bridal Reflections Says ‘I Do’ to Three New Designers

Bridal designers must create dresses that are truly unique in order to catch the attention of competing bridal salons. Bridal Reflections, with three bridal boutiques in Manhattan and Long Island, is excited to add three new designers to their couture collections. And after over 37 years of experience, Bridal Reflections knows what it takes for a gown to dazzle a bride. In fact, one of these bridal lines will be available exclusively at Bridal Reflections in the metropolitan area – ensuring that brides will not only look beautiful, but also be one-of-a-kind.

Welcoming in Three Bridal Couture Connoisseurs

Although new to Bridal Reflections, these bridal designers are well-equipped in the wedding department.

David Tutera

David Tutera, celebrity wedding planner and host of WE TV’s hit show “My Fair Wedding,” has created a line of wedding gowns that exemplify luxury. Tutera has teamed up exclusively with Bridal Reflections in the metropolitan area to showcase his new collection.

Borrowing inspiration from celebrity fashion, Tutera’s designer bridal gowns take red-carpet style and apply it to bridal couture at affordable prices. According to Tutera, “Walking down the aisle at a wedding ceremony is like walking down a runway.”

Come meet David Tutera at our upcoming trunk shows. Check out our Upcoming Bridal Events calendar for more information on where to experience David’s vision.

Anne Barge

Her collection is now available in Bridal Reflections’ Long Island salons. Although designer Anne Barge launched her first bridal collection in 1999, she has been dreaming about wedding gowns for nearly a lifetime. Developing an early fascination for bridal gowns, Barge obtained an apprenticeship with Priscilla of Boston, set up a bridal shop in London, and eventually designed her own bridal line.

Barge’s gowns combine classic designs with quality silks and museum-style beading and embroidery.

Badgley Mischka

Their stunning collection is now available in Bridal Reflections’ Long Island salons. Over 20 years ago, Mark Badgley and James Mischka graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York and decided to pursue a clothing line together. The men focused on their love for enchanting Old-Hollywood-style gowns, and eventually made the transition to bridal.

Badgley Mischka has recently expanded their bridal line to include bridesmaid dresses and engagement rings.

According to badgleymischka.com, Mischka describes their style as simple, streamlined, and elegant. “Our style harks back to the glamorous Hollywood of the forties,” he said.

Badgley Mischka’s style is sophisticated, yet targeted for the younger, more modern couture customer. The Badgley Mischa label is globally known and has a timeless aspect that appeals to fashionable women from Madonna to Julia Roberts.
