Occupation: Teacher

Dress Designer: Calla Blanche

Wedding Date: July 12, 2019

Location Purchased From: Carle Place

Experience: I had an amazing experience at Bridal Reflections. One of my best friends went with me to a trunk show and spotted my dress almost immediately. All of my family lives across the country so Bridal Reflections let us come in when my mom was in town to see the dress even though it wasn’t yet time for my alterations. Every step of the way was seamless and I couldn’t have been happier on our wedding day.

About the Wedding: Our wedding was absolutely perfect! It started out with some speedbumps: our wedding venue closed after we sent out our Save The Dates. The Ainsworth-Chelsea, where I work on the weekends, was kind enough to accommodate us and lucky for us, it turned out even better than our original venue would have ever been! My friends and coworkers completely transformed the space and turned it into a candlelit wonderland. Andre and I did not have a first look. We saw each other as I walked down the aisle and I will never forget his face. I had never seen him cry until that day. After the ceremony, we left the venue and took pictures in the city. I really wanted pictures on the subway and I’m so glad we got them because they are wonderful! Our wedding party was waiting for us on the west side to snap more photos. I am from Texas so we had Texas BBQ for dinner and I got to eat ribs in my wedding dress! Andre’s family is from Haiti and I spent years living and teaching in Haiti before I even met Andre. We played our favorite Haitian songs during the reception and danced all night. One of our good friends, Jen, made us an ice cream cake with Ample Hills Ice Cream from Brooklyn for our wedding cake. It was a huge hit! Andre and I love to play games. We had Nintendo 64 set up on the projectors and played Mario Kart. We had cornhole boards with our pictures on them as well and got to play cornhole with my parents (they beat us!). Because I work at the venue, Andre and I got behind the bar towards the end of the evening and poured tequila shots for everyone. After the sparkler sendoff, we took our taxi around the corner to get a dollar slice of pizza before heading to our hotel. I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect day for us. It had all of our favorite things and was such a celebratory day that we will remember forever.
