Helpful Tips

You should always include your return address on the back of the envelope; this will ensure any misaddressed invitations will get returned to you. When it comes to putting your stationary together make it fun; invite your bridal party and family over! It will save you time and also be a great bonding experience. When sealing your invitations its best to use a clear glue stick and not a wet sponge. Make sure anyone who is helping you stuff your invitations avoids wearing red or dark nail polish that day. Some of the darker polishes can rub off on your stationary.

When its time to go to the post office to weigh your invitations be sure you have already included any additional items in the sample such as hotel and direction cards. This will ensure accurate weight and postage. Mail your invitations at the same post office you went to originally to determine postage. After you have stamped your invitations at home we recommend personally hand canceling them at the post office. This is usually done by a machine but when done by hand it can help to eliminate ink residue from spreading on your envelope. Hand stamping also allows for perfect placement of the postmark over the postage stamp. It’s nice to hand deliver invitations to both the bride and groom’s parents.
