The Designer

Eve Muscio is the president and designer of Eve of Milady, and its sister collection, Amalia Carrara. From an early age, Muscio learned all about design, as she gathered inspiration from her famous painter father and architect mother. Eve has taken this knowledge of art and design to her collection, designing all the beading, embroidery, and unique bridal styles.

Eve’s designs have earned her the Designer of the Year Award from two national bridal publications in the same year, and many actresses and political families have chosen her as their bridal designer of choice.

Anyone who is already using Pinterest knows that this website is addicting!  The Pinterest phenomenon has begun; people are using this new social media platform for leisure, work, and even for planning their weddings.

Ditch the old wedding planner organizer and go digital!  Still clueless as to what exactly Pinterest is?  Well, it is a virtual corkboard that allows you to categorize different findings from the web and things you see in everyday life (thanks to their mobile app).  Brides can create different “boards” with their personal inspiration for their wedding.  Some popular boards include bridal fashions, flowers, cakes, bridal party dresses, honeymoon destinations, venues etc.  These “boards” are a visual way to help organize thoughts and ideas to explore.  The possibilities are almost endless as to what you can create and come up with on your own Pinterest.  Happy pinning!

The bridal consultant is a very important part of a bridal consultation.  A good bridal consultant will get to know your personal style, likes and dislikes.  They will be able to guide you and even open your eyes to styles that may have not appealed to you at first.

It is a good idea to try on multiple silhouettes to determine which flatters your body type.  Don’t be afraid to try a dress on for any reason - remember that you can always opt to tweak a gown to your personal preferences.  At the end of the day, trust your instincts, but take advantage of your consultant’s knowledge and experience—a dress that you may have initially thought would not look good on your body type could end up being “the one”!

Anyone who has ever been a bridesmaid will tell you that they have heard the classic line “You can shorten it and wear it again”.  How many bridesmaids have actually followed through and worn their gowns again?  New trends have been emerging that have bridesmaids across the nation feeling relieved and putting their minds at ease.

Brides have been experimenting with style and color combinations.  Often, brides will narrow their choice down to a particular designer, color, and fabric.  They then give the bridesmaids the option of picking a style within those guidelines.  By doing so their bridesmaids can choose a style that will flatter their individual body types while still looking consistent with the rest of the bridal party.
 
Another option that brides are giving to their bridesmaids is allowing them to choose the color of a style that the bride prefers.  Most colors for bridesmaids’ gowns are also available in a wide range of shades.  Ordering the same gown in different shades is a great option that will give the bridesmaids some creative freedom. 

These new emerging bridal party trends are a happy medium for both the brides and their parties!

This Week’s Wedding Wednesday Tip is from our friend Mark at Flower’s by Topaz!

Mark recommends that couples pick out their color palette before visiting the florist.  Having colors is a starting point for the florist to make your floral vision a reality.  As Mark says “When it comes to weddings you find the dress and we will do the rest”.  Once you have your dresses and colors picked out, he recommends coming to the florist as soon as possible to ensure availability and delivery of the flowers.

The Designer

As a new grad of the respected Ray College of Design in Chicago, Cuban-born Lazaro Perez was awarded ‘Best New Bridal Design’ in all three categoriesof bridal, bridesmaid, and mother of the bride.  His talent propelled him to New York to work with Galina-Bouquet and Richard Glascow. He soon joined JLM Couture, and in 1994 the Lazaro Bridal collection was born. 

In 2001, Lazaro was awarded the Distinctive Excellence in the Bridal Industry (DEBI) award in the category of Style Innovator for Bridal Gowns, as well as its Designer of the Year Award.  Lazaro Perez frequently appears on TLC’s ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ and WeTV’s ‘Girl Meets Gown’.
